Crimson Tide

One of the Economist's election bloggers noted:
Also, I am embarrassed to report that I know for a fact that John McCain's exit music comes from the movie "Crimson Tide," in which a grizzled old sub captain, a career Navy man, is fought and bested by a younger, Harvard-educated black executive officer.
Ouch!

Also, the handshake and kiss between the Palins and McCains at the end of his concession speech did not seem warm at all. Sure, they'd just had their backsides handed to them on a plate, but there didn't even seem to be much of a consoling pat or hug.

Ouch again!

I've seen more sincere handshakes when the Israelis and Arabs came to the negotiating table, compared with the one McCain had with Palin's husband. It's like he was saying, "Thanks for nuthin' ! Now get the hell back to Alaska ..."
